ANY Security Printing Company PLC was awarded the Hungarian Grand Prize with Magyar Posta for its “audible” postage stamps released to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Wagner and Verdi and the Treasures of Hungarian Museums three dimensional miniature sheets.
With a smart phone and the two dimensional, so called QR code printed on the stamp speciality that was released in March in honour of Guiseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner, information on the Hungarian State Opera House’s web site can be heard and read. These stamps are special, as this is the first time that a QR code has appeared on Hungarian postage stamps.
The speciality of the miniature sheets that were also released in March, as part of the Treasures of Hungarian Museums series is that it is the first time in the history of Hungarian stamps issuance that three dimensional images made using the anaglyph (colour filtering) technique are printed on stamps. These unusual miniature sheets require special glasses with red and cyan filters.
